State COVID-19 Drive-Thru Testing Site Opens for Sarasota and Manatee Counties
A drive-thru, community-based COVID-19 testing site opened at 9 a.m. Sunday, May 3, 2020, at the Mall at University Town Center. This site was created through a partnership with the Florida Division of Emergency Management, the Florida Department of Health, the Florida National Guard and Sarasota and Manatee counties. This site will support testing for residents in the area, including Sarasota County and Manatee County residents.
Testing will be available for individuals over the age of 18 regardless of symptoms. The test site is drive-thru only. Please limit passengers in the vehicle to those who are being tested, and no more than 5 people. Individuals being tested will not be permitted to exit their vehicle. A prescription is not required and individuals do not need to be Sarasota or Manatee county resident to be tested. The test used will be a nasal swab. Once samples are collected they will be sent to a commercial lab for testing and results will be provided as soon as they are available.
