FDEM Provides Update to Ongoing Public Assistance Payments 6/21/2018

The Florida Division of Emergency Management (FDEM) announced today that Public Assistance (PA) payments of $476,618.16 were processed to the Department of Financial Services (DFS) on June 20 for their review and payment to end recipients. For Hurricanes Hermine, Matthew and Irma combined, total payments of $226,586,058.11 have been processed to DFS.

The PA program funds the debris removal, emergency protective measures, repair, restoration, reconstruction or replacement of a facility or infrastructure that is damaged or destroyed by disaster. The PA program also encourages protection of these damaged facilities and infrastructure from future events by providing assistance for hazard mitigation measures during the recovery process.

The Division will continue to ensure that Florida’s communities successfully recover from major disasters as quickly and with as much future budget certainty as possible. We are committed to expeditiously processing federal public assistance reimbursements in a fully transparent manner immediately following FEMA obligation.
